Hello! Welcome to our adventures! We are Fern and Hannis and together we are The Horizon Chasers. You can read a little more about us on our about us page but this blog is going to be how we share our journey of adventures together. We are a couple who love adventuring and pushing our limits, both together and individually.
The Horizon Chasers name came about for a few reasons, primarily: we love going on runs at sunrise or sunset together (our third date was a sunrise exploratory run around Venice); and we love broadening our horizons in any way we can.
I’m (Hannis) soon to move to Rwanda, Africa to work for an NGO I’ve been involved with for a number of years who work to alleviate poverty by building footbridges in rural parts of developing countries. Fern is a medical doctor working as a Radiologist within the NHS on a training contract for the RAF committed to London for the foreseeable future. This means that for the next few years we’re going to work to continue adventuring together, whilst living in different hemispheres of our planet.
My move has catalysed the creation of this blog, and our coining of the term “Broadener”. The intention of these is that they will be challenges that aim to broaden our horizons in a wide variety of ways. We will take on these Broadeners together, regardless of whether we a physically in the same place or not. Each month we will pick a new one, record our experiences and share them with you here. If you have any suggestions for a Broadener we’d love to hear them so hit us up in the comments or, even better, call us out on our social media channels!
